It is still unclear how the person who shot Trump got past security

Questions remain about how the shooter of Donald Trump bypassed security, especially since the house where he was staying was guarded by police.

Investigations are ongoing to determine if there is more to the story. Donald Trump was shot by a young man who was climbing a building in Buttler, Pennsylvania, during his campaign.

The Secret Service, responsible for protecting current and former presidents, patrolled the area around Trump. Police were also assigned to patrol the area, including the house where the young man was staying.

Security agencies are now questioning whether it was wise to let the police patrol the premises, considering it was a potential target during Trump’s speech.

Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old, managed to climb the roof of a building 140 meters from where Trump was standing and fired 8 shots at the crowd.

One shot injured Trump’s right ear, another killed one of his supporters, and two others were seriously injured. Crooks was shot and killed by one of the presidential bodyguards.

U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who oversees agencies including the Secret Service and the Presidential Guard, announced that an independent, third-party investigation would begin soon. He said the incident was a failure of the security forces.
